Nate Cicero Joins MMR For 2024 Mustang Challenge Series

May 10, 2024

Supply, North Carolina - May 10th, 2024 - McCumbee McAleer Racing (MMR) proudly announces the addition of Nate Cicero to its lineup for the upcoming IMSA-sanctioned Mustang Challenge series, set to kick off in June 2024.

Nate Cicero, a seasoned competitor with a track record of success, will pilot the #82 black, red, white, and blue entry, alongside drivers Jeremy Fletcher in the #22, and Zach Lee in the #48, who had been previously announced. Cicero's transition to the Mustang Challenge follows his remarkable achievements with MMR's Mazda MX5 Cup program, where he showcased exceptional talent and dedication.

Expressing his enthusiasm for the upcoming season, Nate Cicero remarked, “I’m super excited to be joining MMR in Mustang Challenge this season! I’ve been with this team for the last 2 years and we’ve already had great success in the Mazda MX5 -Cup, so I’m looking forward to building on that along with the challenge of learning a new car. With MMR's dedication to building the best program possible and with our strong driver line up, I believe we can challenge for the top spots this season! Huge thanks to Stevan, Chad, Stuart, and all of MMR for all of their support!”

Chad McCumbee, team owner, commented, “Nate has already shown so much growth and potential in a short time aboard our MX5-Cup program. I am thrilled to have him join Zach and Jeremy in the Mustang Challenge inaugural season. More success ahead, no doubt!”

Stevan McAleer, team owner, added, “I’m very excited to see Nate join our Mustang Challenge Series Team. Heavier car than the Mazda Mx5-Cup he is used to, different driving style, tire degradation and manual gearbox. I however think it will suit his driving style very well and he will be up front from the get go. This is extra special for me because Nate and his sister Gia started with McAleer Karting Team and he has been under my wing since the very beginning so it’s incredible to see him in the IMSA paddock and fighting for wins and championships which he will do in the Mustang Series.”

The 2024 Mustang Challenge season promises a captivating lineup of events at renowned tracks nationwide, including Mid-Ohio Sportscar Course, Watkins Glen International, Road America, Circuit of the Americas, and Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Featuring a competitive format with two 30-minute practice sessions, one 15-minute qualifying session, and two 45-minute sprint races at each IMSA-sanctioned event, the Mustang Challenge series offers an exhilarating platform for drivers and teams to showcase their talent and determination.

With a focus on fostering talent and providing opportunities for growth, Mustang Challenge boasts an innovative prize structure, including a $100,000 scholarship towards a Mustang GT4 or GT3 racing effort, further incentivizing drivers and teams to excel on and off the track.

As excitement mounts for the inaugural season of Mustang Challenge, MMR is poised to make its mark with a winning combination of skill, passion, and dedication.
